I purchased this as a birthday present for my 7 year old grandson, Declan. We have been having lots of educational fun with it and still have more projects, etc. to finish.
This was great for keeping everyone busy during a rainy weekend. The activity book was really good and has a lot of games and things inside so we will be keeping that even after all the other materials are used up
I was a bit worried that this would be too arts and crafts focused and that my daughter would like it a lot more than my son but there were plenty of things for both of them to do. He especially loved building the owl, learning some magic tricks and doing the games in the book it comes with. My daughter said her favorite parts were the paintings and the sculpting sticks.
All of the activities involve some sort of kindness mission for the kids to complete and that was a really great addition. It got my son to eagerly involve his sister in things by teaching her what he learned, sharing with her, making her things, or helping her use the different material. He normally isn't great at sharing with her (which is understandable- she is a very destructive toddler) but it was really touching to see them working together on things.
Of course there had to be a tropical storm the week of our vacation but we were not going to let that stop us from having fun! We bunkered down inside with some board games and this activity kit and we had a blast! I'm actually kind of glad it was raining, our kids had so much fun doing these crafts together, it felt like we were really having some quality family time.
