My grandson is going through a "mine" phase and so his parents are really trying to teach him about sharing. I sent them over this and they seemed to love it! They said it helped having set "lesson plans" to teach him about being grateful and showing it =)
The gratitude cards are such a great concept. It's hard to tell from the product listing but basically it is a keyring that has 50 or so cards on it and each card has a gratitude prompt. The ring makes it really easy to carry around so I use it on the rides home from school to keep things interesting. It's started some really great conversations and I think we've all become more grateful because of them.
I am grateful that Open the Joy is making toys that focus on emotional growth! Keep it up!
I like that these activities can be done at face value and just be a fun little project to do that is gratitude themed or it can be used as a tool to spark a conversation about what gratitude is and why it is important and develop lifelong habits to practice it.
We had a bit of an "uh-oh" moment when our son replied with a "That's it?" rather than a thank you when opening his Christmas presents. Obviously we had some gratitude issues and when telling the story to a friend she suggested this box. It has completely turned everything around! It was a great life lesson to learn and we are continuing to re-enforce the activities.
